Today’s sketch is my first one of a real person, cartooned of course. The victim is Lisa, a 25 year old hair stylist from England, who also happens to be my sister. Lisa loves to paint and has a room full of blank canvasses just sitting there waiting to be turned into masterpieces, which was the inspiration for this sketch.
As you can see, she is looking quite upset because she desperately wants to fill those canvasses with colour but at the moment just can’t get the time.
Tomorrow, I will be bringing cartoon Lisa to life with a full colour illustration.

Mr Big Chin gets illustrated.

This guy was a quick 5 minute sketch. He is a modern man who spends a long time trying to look good. His main problem though, is that he loves his food and it always goes straight to his chin! He spends hours everyday doing chinups in an effort to lose the blubber but to no avail!

Isn’t he a cutie! Cardbot was inspired by Pixar’s Wall-E but isn’t quite as advanced. I wanted Cardbot to be something believable, a box with a personality. When I was a youngster I would always turn old carboard boxes into things like cars, houses and sometimes robots just like Cardbot here.

Unlike most of my characters, Alf started out as an eye. He soon developed a second eye, followed by a nose, mouth and about six chins! He began to look like a grumpy old office worker so I dressed him with a shirt and tie. Poor old Alf will be stuck in that same boring office job until the day he retires and he can’t wait for it!
